Teams

Show who is currently responsible for each dashboard.

Responsibilities let a team see who is on duty for a website, shift, video workflow, desk role, or any other operational function directly inside the realtime dashboard.

What responsibilities are

A responsibility is a named role that appears in the NowMetrix realtime dashboard. Examples include Site manager, Video desk, Newsdesk lead, or Reporter team. Team members can take over a responsibility with one click, so everyone can see who is currently in charge.

Responsibilities are configured per website. This means one dashboard can use them while another dashboard in the same account stays clean and unchanged.

Set up responsibilities

  1. Open Settings -> Team Management.
  2. Select the Responsibilities tab.
  3. Use Select website to choose the dashboard you want to configure.
  4. Turn on Active when the box should appear in the dashboard.
  5. Add up to five responsibility names.
  6. Set the weekdays and time range when the box should be visible.
  7. Choose who may take over: all employees, selected departments, or selected employees.
  8. Save the settings.
If you save changes while Active is off, NowMetrix keeps the configuration but does not show the box in the dashboard until the feature is enabled for that website.

Configuration options

Option What it means

How it works in the dashboard

When responsibilities are active, a compact box appears in the realtime dashboard. Each row shows the responsibility name and the currently assigned team member with their avatar.

Take over

If the role is empty, an allowed member can take it over directly. If another member is already assigned, NowMetrix asks for confirmation before replacing them.

End assignment

A member who currently owns a responsibility can end their own assignment. Other members can take over if their permissions allow it.

Visible to everyone

Changes are shown to the rest of the team through the realtime dashboard poll, so everyone sees who is currently in charge.

Daily reset

Assignments reset by local tracker date. At midnight in the website's timezone, yesterday's assignments stop being shown.

Choose the right permission model

Use the permission setting to decide who can take over responsibilities. Visibility and takeover permission are separate: the team can see the current assignments, while only allowed members can change them.

  • All employees: best for small teams where everyone may take operational ownership.
  • Only defined departments: best when roles belong to desks such as Video, Sports, or Newsdesk.
  • Only selected employees: best for sensitive or senior roles with a small set of owners.

If you use department-based permissions, create and assign departments first on the Teams page.

API and MCP access

Responsibilities can also be read through NowMetrix integrations. This is useful for internal dashboards, newsroom displays, automation, or AI assistants that need to answer who is currently responsible for a website.
