Give the right people access to the right dashboards.
A growing team should not mean growing confusion. Team Management keeps members, tracker access, departments, and newsroom responsibilities in one place.
One place for the people behind the dashboards
Team Management is available to account admins in the NowMetrix dashboard. Open the dashboard, choose the website you want to work with, then go to Settings -> Team Management.
The area has three tabs: Members answers “who can log in?”, Departments reflects how your team is organized, and Responsibilities shows who is currently in charge.
Add people without opening every dashboard
The Members tab gives admins the full picture: name, email address, role, department, avatar, and every tracker the person can open.
- Open Settings -> Team Management.
- Stay on the Members tab.
- Use the search field to find a person by name or email address.
- Open the member you want to update.
- Adjust the name, role, department, avatar, or accessible trackers.
- Save the changes.
Roles and tracker access
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Admin | Can access administrative areas such as team management, API settings, billing, and connectors. |
| Editor | Can use the operational dashboard areas they have tracker access to, but cannot manage billing, team settings, or connectors. API access can be granted separately. |
| API access | Allows an editor to create and manage a personal API key. The key can only access trackers assigned to that editor. |
| Trackers | Control which websites or dashboards the member can open in NowMetrix. |
| Department | Groups the member into a team such as Newsdesk, Sports, Video, or Audience. |
A useful rule of thumb: give people the dashboards they work with, not every dashboard the account happens to contain. You can always add another tracker later.
Make the account reflect your real team
Departments help larger teams keep responsibilities clear. You can create departments for editorial desks, regional teams, video, social, audience, or any other structure that matches your organization.
- Open Settings -> Team Management.
- Select the Departments tab.
- Enter a department name, for example Sports newsroom.
- Select Create department.
- Assign team members to the department from the Members tab.
Existing departments can be renamed or deleted. Deleting a department does not delete team members; it only removes the department assignment from those members.
Why departments matter
Departments are also used by the Responsibilities feature. For example, you can allow only the Video department to take over a video responsibility, while everyone else can still see who is currently in charge.
Next: responsibilities
Once your team members and departments are clean, configure responsibilities to show who is currently in charge of a website, shift, video desk, or other operational role.
